About

I do everything I do -- writing, career coaching, and podcasting -- because I love connecting with people.

Knowing that I’ve been able to positively impact someone is my biggest motivator. Whether that looks like brightening someone’s day through written or spoken word or coaching someone towards a fulfilling career, I’m driven by helping others.

Caffeine helps, too.

Writing

Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a child, so it came as a surprise to no one when I chose to earn first a bachelor’s and then a master’s degree in English. I started writing professionally in 2013 when I was hired to write front-page news for Kicker. I’ve also freelanced for Screen Rant, where I wrote about the biggest movies and television shows in nerd pop culture, and The HOTH, where I ghost wrote hundreds of blog posts for businesses across the globe. When I’m not writing for other people, I write fiction for myself -- so far I’ve completed two manuscripts and am in the process of drafting a third.

Career Coaching

Coaching came as a natural progression from my full-time career in higher education, where I focus on leadership education for undergraduates. I’ve run workshops on inclusive leadership, salary negotiation, and more, along with teaching a section of a career development course. I earned a certification as a Job & Career Development/Transition Coach through the Career Development Network in 2019 and started working with The Muse in 2020.

Podcasting

Podcasting is my newest passion project. Along with my best friend and former college roommate Emily Davis-Hale, I’m the co-creator and co-host of the podcast Reclaiming Jane, a Jane Austen podcast for fans on the margins.

Whatever brought you here, welcome. Let’s create together.
